Loan Modification companies?
JoAnn N asked:
Has anyone used one of these loan modification companies? I keep hearing all these different reports. I am shopping them but I am scared of getting ripped off. Has anyone used one and if so what company was it, did they do what they said?

The guy above me has a point, but unless you are in the business, the Lender may not respond in your favor. I do recommend going with a reputable loan mod company. A good one will have relationships already with the lender in question, and will yeild better results.
Unfortunately I can’t recommend anybody, but try to go to this user board and search for a good response…
If you go with a law firm, it will most likely NOT be a scam. Just expect to pay no more than have your mortgage payment for their monthly services.

The only people that can modify your loan is the lender that has it. It would be a scam.
I wouldnt pay anybody anything that you can do for free. These companies just want your money.
Just call your bank. The bank sure as hell wont pay them for you to do a modification. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will pay the bank 800 dollars to do the modification, I guarantee you that the bank isnt giving one penny to this company. So how do they get paid?
Oh I know they call your bank and say we want to modify this loan. (normally they cant without you being on the phone) If you have to be on the phone anyway why pay them? Or you could do the same without paying them.
